CROATIA FACTS

Its western borders reach the Alps, to the north-east its borders
touch the Panonian lowlands, to the east Croatia's border line
is the river Danube and on the south it is the Adriatic sea.
Croatia covers the area of 56,594 km, while the waters
 of Croatia cover the area of 31,067 km2 .

According to the census from 2001. there are 4.4 mil
inhabitants in Croatia, most of them are Croats and
besides national minorities are Serbs, Slovenes,
Hungarians, Bosnians, Italians and Czechs.

Capital of Croatia is Zagreb which according to last
census counts around 1 mil. inhabitants.

CROATIA CLIMATE

Croatia can be divided into three climate zones.
The inland has mostly continental climate which
is characterised by rainy and cool winters
with moderate snow falls and hot summers;
temperatures range from -5 to 0 in winter
 period and from 18 to 30
°C during the summer.
 The mountain region
 is characterised by forest climate
 with lots of snowfalls in winter and moderate rain
 during summer months. The temperatures in winter
can go as low as -30
°C while in summer the average
 daily temperature is about 12
°C
The mild Mediterranean climate
is determined by the large number of sunny days with
hot  and dry summers and mild and wet winters with
 occasionally significant rainfalls.  Winter temperatures
range from 5 to 13
°C and on summers their range
 is between 23 and 33
°C.

CROATIA CURRENCY

Croatia national currency is kuna. 1 kuna consists of
100 lipa. For Croatia travellers it is worth to know that
 you can exchange foreign currency in  banks, exchange
 offices, post offices, travel agencies, hotels, airports,
camping sites. Should you have cheques or you need
 credit card transactions, please visit the bank
